Police raid drug-fueled parties at two condos, 20 captured

KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 20 people in separate raids on two condominium units on suspicion of involvement in wild parties laced with drugs in Jalan Sultan Ismail, near here, this morning.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, ACP, Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, said that in the first raid around 1 a.m. on a condominium unit, police arrested six people, five men and one woman, from among 21 and 27 years old.

According to him, the inspection at the facility found several types of drugs, namely 2.05 grams (g) of cannabis, two pills of erimin 5, one g of ketamine and one ecstasy pill, as well as a plastic bottle that it is suspected of being used to smoke marijuana.

“Upon detection, four men were found to have tested positive for methamphetamine and ketamine and all of them were detained for two days for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.

Mohamad Zainal said that in the second raid on a different condominium unit in the same location, around 2 a.m., 14 men, ages 20 to 27, were arrested and several drugs were also found.

He said that after detection, 13 of them tested positive for methamphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol, amphetamine and ketamine and that all were detained for one day to facilitate further investigations.

Checks found that the two condo units were rented at RM225 and RM500 per day and invitations to attend the party were made through contacts and social media sites. -Called
