KLUANG (Bernama): A police officer died after a car driven by a man under the influence of alcohol collided with his motorcycle at KM 6 Jalan Kluang – Teck Wah Hing, here, on Friday night (February 12).

Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani, Kluang’s deputy deputy chief, said 28-year-old L / Kpl Bradford Bernard was involved in the accident after working in the EMCO area at Simpang Renggam prison.

He said police received a report at 10.25pm ​​saying there was an accident involving a vehicle from Kluang and a motorcycle coming from Simpang Renggam.

Supt Razak said the motorist had lost control and collided with Bradford’s motorcycle causing the victim to sustain serious injuries. He died at the scene.

He said the victim was on his way to the Kluang Police Headquarters (IPD) after completing his duties at Simpang Renggam Prison.

“The victim, who was married, died due to serious injuries to his body. The 58-year-old suspect is currently in custody and a breathalyzer test found that he had exceeded the allowed limit for blood alcohol,” said in a statement the Saturday (February 13).

He said investigations found that the motorist also has a history of cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
