PETALING JAYA: Selangor Police are investigating young DAP Syefura Othman for allegedly disobeying standard operating procedures under the conditional motion control order after two reports were filed against her.

CID state chief Fadzil Ahmat said the reports were made after the whistleblower came across the photos of Young Syefura on social media, along with a group of friends on a beach.

In the images, taken at the Avani Sepang Gold Coast Resort, the five were not wearing face masks and did not observe social distancing.

“We are investigating the case,” Fadzil said in a statement.

Last night, the Ketari assemblywoman apologized after the backlash on social media accusing her of disobeying movement restrictions by going to the beach.

She said she was prepared to be investigated by authorities for her actions.

Selangor is under a conditional motion control order until December 6, following a spike in Covid-19 cases.

The young Syefura said on Twitter that she would not take advantage of her status as a Pahang assemblyman to move in Selangor, where she lives.
