PETALIZING JAYA: A police inspector accused of trafficking two Mongolian women for sexual exploitation yesterday was charged in court today here with nine counts of rape and with the intention of outraging his modesty.
However, Hazrul Hizham Ghazali, 30, pleaded not guilty to all charges that were read before Judge Norshila Kamaruddin.
In the first to eighth charges, Hazrul Hizham, who is at the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters, was accused of raping the two Mongolian women, aged 20 and 36, by using their position of authority to obtain their consent.
He was alleged to have committed the offenses in two separate rooms at PJ Luxe Boutique Hotel here between 12.30 and 11 am on April 11.
The charges were framed in Section 376 (2) (f) of the Penal Code, which establishes a prison sentence of up to 20 years and spanking, if found guilty.
In the ninth charge, the police officer was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force against the two women with the intention of outraging their modesty in the camp set up for the staff on duty at the road blockade in the NPE Toll Plaza, PJS2 here, between 5.30 pm and 6.15 p.m. from last April 10.
He faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years, or a fine, or flogging, or with either punishment, if convicted.
