KUALA LUMPUR: Police (PDRM) have reopened investigations into the death of Teoh Beng Hock (pix) who was found dead on July 16, 2009, under Section 342 of the Penal Code (Unlawful Confinement).

The Ministry of the Interior (KDN), in a written response on Parliament’s website, reported that previous investigative documents had been forwarded to the Chamber of the Attorney General (AGC) on February 24 and police were told that continue with the investigations.

“The PDRM was ordered to submit the documents to the AGC when the investigations were completed.

“The police have recorded statements from 13 witnesses and investigations are ongoing,” said the ministry in response to Lim Lip Eng (PH-Kepong) who wanted to know the latest on the case, in addition to the number of witnesses whose statements have been made. registered, to facilitate investigations into Teoh’s death.

Teoh was found dead on the fifth floor of the Plaza Masalam building in Shah Alam, after he was interviewed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in his office on the 14th floor of the same building.

Teoh was then the political secretary to the Chairman of the Local Government, New Village Development and Factory Legalization Committee, Ean Yong Hian Wah, who was also a member of the Seri Kembangan State Assembly.
