KUALA LUMPUR: Police have denied allegations that a police officer from the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters was the person who was seen brutally murdered in a video that went viral on social media today.

The head of the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department, Datuk Fadzil Ahmat (pix) said the policewoman had filed a police report on the matter in Klang today.

He said the video was considered a threat to the police officer’s safety and that the police had classified the case as a form of criminal intimidation.

“We are investigating him under Section 509 (of the Penal Code) for insulting modesty and we have opened an investigative document on the case. We will investigate who (the individual) is sharing the photographs and video of the victim on social networks ”, he told Bernama today.

Meanwhile, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) said in a statement that there was nothing true in the news linking the incident to the female police officer.

A video, which went viral today, showed an alleged police woman, with her hands and legs tied, being brutally murdered.
