Police arrest six suspects for a fight in Jinjang Utara

KUALA LUMPUR: Six suspects have been arrested in connection with a fight that left two men injured in Jinjang Utara.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Com Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the six, all male, were between 21 and 24 years old, while the injured were 24 years old.

“The fight is believed to have occurred after a disagreement.

“One of the wounded was found on the road with serious injuries and was sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment, while the other suffered minor cuts to the head,” he said.

He said police received a call about the fight around 9:30 p.m. Friday (May 8) and that they were informed of a fight involving a group of men armed with machetes.

The fight happened in front of a store in Jalan Tebing Timur.

Police also confiscated a motorcycle, a helmet, a cane, and some clothing that the suspects are believed to have worn during the fight as evidence.

Comm Mazlan said three of those arrested have a history of committing violent crimes and drug crimes.

The suspects have been referred for six days from May 9.

The case is being investigated for causing serious damage by weapons or dangerous means and possession of weapons under Sections 326 and 148 of the Penal Code.
