KLUANG: The police arrested five 16-year-old boys who are believed to have bullied and beat four 14-year-old boys at a boarding school in Kluang.

“Based on our initial investigation, the incident took place at the boarding school and was due to a misunderstanding between the victims and the suspects. The victims were advised not to raise the matter with the school,” he said.
ACP Low said the mother of one of the victims learned of the incident through text messages on her son’s phone.
He added that the victims have received treatment and that the case is being investigated under Article 147 of the Penal Code, where if found guilty they could be imprisoned for a maximum of two years or fines, or both.
“The suspects were arrested on Saturday (November 7) around 2.45 pm. They all tested negative for drugs and have no criminal records,” he said, adding that they would be sent to pretrial detention to assist in investigations.
Meanwhile, the school published a post on its Facebook page, urging all parties to be patient, as investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
“In the recent case, we seek the cooperation of all parties to remain calm, as an investigation based on the complaints received is still ongoing. We urge social media users to provide space for the school to drive each complaint, “reads the publication on Saturday.
