KUALA LUMPUR: The police have advised the public not to gather outside of Istana Negara on Sunday (October 25) along with a special meeting of the Conference of Rulers here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin @ Hilmi said members of the public who have no business would be advised to leave.

“In an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19, all media personnel are also advised to adhere to the standard operating procedures of the conditional motion control order (MCO).

“We will also introduce the MySejahtera registration system to all media professionals, agencies and service teams outside Istana Negara Gates 1, 2 and 3,” he said in a statement on Saturday (October 24).

He said that all interested must wear face masks, check their temperatures and register at the installed counters.

“Media personnel will be allowed to enter a designated area with special physical distancing boxes.

“They will also not be allowed to move or stand on the road to avoid traffic disturbances,” he said.

ACP Zairulnizam said that any breach of standard operating procedures will result in the immediate release of a compound according to Rule 11 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulation.

“Any provocation will be dealt with in accordance with available laws.

“Brickfields Police remind all parties to continue to adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure the meeting runs smoothly and slow the spread of the coronavirus,” he said.
