Police: 13 vehicles trapped in Fraser’s Hill landslides, no injuries

KUANTAN (Bernama): Police confirm that a total of 13 vehicles were trapped between two landslides along Jalan Raub-Bukit Fraser (Fraser’s Hill), about 230 km from here around 1.30 pm Sunday (3 January) in the afternoon.

Raub OCPD Superintendent Kama Azural Mohamed said everyone was believed to have been trapped after being unable to continue due to the landslide at KM2 from the road, and were unable to return to Fraser’s Hill due to another landslide at KM4 from the same road . .

“No casualties were reported. At present, several people have returned to Fraser’s Hill with the help of police and villagers, after they crossed the area blocked by the landslides.

“Women and children are being prioritized. Others are still in the process of being evacuated before being taken to Fraser’s Hill for the night,” he said when contacted by Bernama on Sunday.

Superintendent Kama Azural said the police had contacted the Department of Public Works and the Kuala Kubu Baru Selangor Roadside Assistance Team to clear the road.

As with Sunday, the Supt Kama Azural confirmed that there were landslides at three locations along the Jalan Raub-Bukit Fraser, which are believed to have occurred due to continuous rain since Saturday (January 2). – Bernama
