Fairuz, 36, who is also the head of the Sabah Bersatu Youth, said that Pintasan is a very strategic district located in the coastal area and on the main route of the Pan Borneo Highway project, hence the advantage of developing quickly. with great potential to promote local development. economy.
He said this includes the possible creation of a new city, as Pintasan had already made its name among popular destinations for local and foreign tourists.
“For Pintasan, I focus more on economic development. I want to create a new city and a small port for small ships to dock and unload cargo.
“The state constituency also has its own uniqueness because it has a famous and beautiful island, Mantanani Island, as well as being one of the best and interesting tourist destinations in Kota Belud,” he said. Named.
In addition to tourism, Fairuz said the fishing and agriculture sectors in Pintasan should also be further developed as they are the main sources of income for the locals.
He said the sandy soil along the coast was also suitable for growing watermelon, which could be commercialized on a large scale to provide employment opportunities for young people in the area.
“Therefore, I also plan to build at least one plant for the downstream watermelon industry,” he added.

Fairuz is in a six-party fight for the seat, which is one of 13 new seats introduced in state elections.

Pintasan has 10,867 voters, 40 percent of whom are young voters between the ages of 21 and 39.
