Sabah PKR’s Razeef Rakimin singled out Warisan whip Rozman Isli for the absence of Warisan MPs in two divisional votes in the Dewan Rakyat.

PETALING JAYA: A Sabah PKR youth leader criticized Warisan after his MPs failed to participate in a budget vote on Monday to show their dissatisfaction with opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Razeef Rakimin, head of youth information at Sabah PKR, pointed to Warisan’s whip, Rozman Isli, and said the excuse given by the latter was childish.

“This is not the first time that I have rebuked the warrior leaders for their arrogance and, in fact, they told me that such behavior would be their downfall. And this is what happened in the last state elections, “he said in a statement.

Earlier today, Rozman, who is the Labuan MP, told Malaysiakini that his absence was deliberate to “send a signal” to Pakatan Harapan, saying that Warisan was tired of infighting in the opposition bloc.

He also said the party was frustrated with Anwar for the “last minute instructions” to opposition MPs last week when voting on the federal budget at the political stage.

“We are still in the opposition bloc, but we want to send a signal to our opposition leadership that we don’t want to be pushed around and I don’t think they are making the right strategy (or) the right moves,” Rozman said. was quoted as saying.

Rozman added that Warisan MPs would continue not to participate in the bloc’s votes “for an unspecified period of time.”

But Razeef said it was not the time to politic just because you are not happy with your ally. “The people voted for you to represent them in the Dewan Rakyat, so take your responsibility.”

He said they were not ruling out the possibility that Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had ordered Warisan MPs to sabotage opposition efforts in retaliation for Mahathir’s failure to muster the support of 15 MPs to force a split vote in the second reading of the Draft Law on Supplies. Last Thursday.

Estimates for the Prime Minister’s Department were approved by a division vote of 105-95 with 20 deputies absent, while the Finance Ministry estimates were approved, also in one division, by 107-95 with 18 absent.

Sabah PKR President Christina Liew said she did not attend the voting because she was in Sabah on family matters of a relative who underwent surgery.

Liew, who is a MP for Tawau, was among the Sabah MPs who were not in the room when the vote took place.
