Paradigm Mall says the patient is not a mall worker, but had visited the mall on October 2. Disinfection is carried out according to official guidelines.

PETALING JAYA: Paradigm Mall said today that a Covid-19 case has been detected at the complex, indirectly involving a Brands Outlet staff member.

The patient is a store staff roommate who recently returned from Sabah and tested positive, but is not a member of the mall staff or an employee of any other tenant in the complex, mall management said today.

Management said the shopping center will immediately undergo a sanitation in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

The individual had only been to the mall on October 2, during which he did not show any symptoms. He applied for a medical leave the next day and has not reported for work since.

“All other employees of the tenant, as well as people who were in direct contact with said employee, are being located, notified and advised to immediately quarantine themselves and seek immediate medical assistance if they begin to show any symptoms or feel unwell “, He said.

Brands Outlet said in a statement that the person is now receiving medical care.

He also said that the store had been temporarily closed to mitigate the risk of infection, adding that all staff would undergo screening and 14 days of quarantine as a precaution.

Brands Outlet apologized for the inconvenience caused and said that any additional information about Covid-19 will be shared on its Facebook page.
