PUTRAJAYA: The second phase of the national vaccination exercise that prioritizes the elderly, people with morbidity problems and people with disabilities will begin on April 19, said the coordinating minister of the National Covid-19 Immunization Program, Khairy Jamaluddin (pix).
He said beneficiaries would be notified about their vaccination appointment starting April 5, two weeks before the appointment date, through the MySejahtera app, phone calls and the short message system (SMS).
As of yesterday (March 28), about two million people in the second phase had signed up through MySejahtera, out of a target of nine million people, he said.
“While waiting for the registration of the groups in the second phase and when the supply of vaccines is sufficient, those who have registered in the third phase will have priority to receive the vaccine.
“If the registration for the second phase is slow, we will not wait. The vaccination process for the third phase will be simplified, ”he told a press conference on the development of the Covid-19 immunization program here today.
The third phase involves adults over 18 years of age and is scheduled for this month of May.
