Pharmacy Robbery Suspects Arrested

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men who participated in a wave of robberies here recently were arrested by police at a hotel in Jalan Pudu earlier today.

The 31- and 40-year-old suspects are allegedly behind a recent robbery case that was caught on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera where a thief quietly enters a pharmacy in Jalan Gombak, before snatching a necklace from her. I pray to a client.

CCTV footage of Saturday’s robbery was widely shared on social media.

Wangsa Maju Police Chief Superintendent Rajab Ahad Ismail said that with the help of the federal police CID, a district police team tracked the suspects to the hotel before catching them at 2 a.m. today. .

He said the police also seized the clothes worn by the suspects during the robbery at the pharmacy.

Rajab said investigations showed that the suspects had sold the stolen items to a third party who is being searched by police.

He said that after questioning, the suspects admitted to being involved in several robbery and carjacking cases in Setapak and Sentul.

Rajab said the checks showed the suspects have 26 criminal records among them and are listed as wanted for a drug-related case.

He said both suspects were sent to pretrial detention for further investigations.
