The council said it was confident that all MPs will engage in a healthy debate to ensure Budget 2021 prioritizes the interests of the country and the people and meets the aspirations declared by the King.

On Wednesday, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah advised MPs to support the upcoming 2021 Budget in the interest of the people.

In a statement, the Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said that the King emphasized that the Budget will be crucial for the government and authorities to continue to combat the Covid-19 pandemic effectively.

He also said that the King reminded MPs that political disputes over personal interests will be detrimental to the nation, especially in light of the pandemic.
