Pep Guardiola admits that Liverpool’s four forwards caused problems for Manchester City, but believes both teams will rejoice at their stalemate.

The top two favorites for the Premier League table fought for a 1-1 draw at the Etihad on Sunday.

Liverpool, which started with Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in attack, took the lead in the 13th minute with a Salah penalty, only for Gabriel Jesús to equalize shortly after half an hour.

Kevin De Bruyne missed a penalty before the break but Guardiola had no qualms on the final score.

“It was a close match,” said the city chief. “They start very well, they found space between the lines and they run behind.

“It is not easy because today they are very fast with four players.

“After the goal we conceded, we were much better, we tied and the second half was much better.

“We had a clear opportunity with Gabriel, but there weren’t many opportunities. Speak well for both parties.

“All teams want three points, but one point is one point. We are drawing too much (at the moment) but in general I think it is a fair result.

How happy am I? Much, perhaps happier than ever. In 12 games we have lost one in all competitions ”.

Guardiola, however, was unhappy with his team’s defense on the Liverpool penalty, with Kyle Walker caught in a blast from Sadio Mane and knocking the Senegalese upside down.

“We conceded three penalties (this season), today we conceded one because we didn’t learn,” he said.
