GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): The Penang government announced a special financial aid (BKK) amounting to half a month’s salary or a minimum of RM1,000 for the 4,009 state officials.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, presenting the 2021 State Budget in the State Assembly on Monday (October 12), said that the bonus payment involving RM5.5 thousand would be paid in December this year.
“The state government wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude to the Penang Health Department, the National Security Council and all security teams, such as the Royal Malaysian Police, the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Malaysian Civil Defense Force, Malaysian Volunteer Department and all federal service members for their sacrifices as a vanguard, their service and support in curbing the spread of Covid-19 and helping to ensure stability, peace and order public, ‘”he added.
He also expressed his appreciation for the services and sacrifices of public servants, as the backbone of the state government, in the planning and implementation of state policies and development.
“Public servants are the government’s implementation machinery. Without them, state governance will be hampered. The glorious achievements we have made so far will not be achieved without their commitment and support.”
As a token of appreciation for the strong support provided by state civil servants for 2020, the state government has agreed to approve the payment of Special Financial Assistance at the end of the year, which will be equivalent to your half month (salary) or a minimum of RM1, 000.
“The payment from BKK is expected to further enhance its spirit to provide more excellent service in the coming years,” he added.
Chow also said that the payment of RM300 each will also be delivered to 1,587 Kafa (religious schools) teachers and supervisors, 343 Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat teachers, 263 Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat teachers and 590 Chinese private school teachers and staff.
“The payment of 200 RM each will also be received by 320 teachers from Tahfiz, pondok and Tadis (Islamic kindergarten) this December and would cost an additional RM 898,900,” he added. – Bernama
