Earlier this month, Pejuang had requested a judicial review in the High Court requesting that the party be registered within seven days after the court ruling in accordance with Section 7 of the Companies Act 1996.

PETALING JAYA: Pejuang, facing an unusual delay in its registration by the Registrar of Societies (RoS), is open to contesting entries from other parties if the need arises in GE15.

The party’s leader, Mukhriz Mahathir, said the options would include Sabah-based Warisan, adding that his candidates will not run as independents.

Speaking at a Sinar Harian forum yesterday, Mukhriz said that Warisan was a possible option in the event that the RoS did not approve Pejuang’s registration.

“We will not participate as independent candidates. At best, we must be part of a political party. There are several options and we will consider the matter, ”he said in response to a question about whether Warisan was able to expand to the Peninsula.

When asked about Pejuang’s preparations for GE15, the Jerlun MP said the party had not yet decided what its next course of action would be.

“We have to be rational and cut our coat according to our fabric. We cannot set a goal too high without having the ability to achieve it. Fighting alone is difficult, but a decision will be made before GE15. “

The former Kedah menteri besar also stressed that his party had not received any official letter from the RoS, despite meeting all the requirements and having met with department officials to discuss the issue.

Earlier this month, Pejuang had requested a judicial review in the High Court, and Acting Secretary General Amiruddin Hamzah requested that the party be registered within seven days of the court ruling in accordance with Section 7 of the Companies Act. 1996.

According to Mukhriz, the court has set January 7 of next year as a mention.
