Paul Pogba is the ‘most overrated player I have ever seen in my LIFE’, criticizes Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher has called Paul Pogba the most overrated player he has seen after his agent announced that the Frenchman wants to leave Manchester United.

On Monday, Mino Raiola urged United to sell their record £ 89 million signing next summer or risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires in June 2022 because he claims Pogba will not sign a new one.

Raiola has questioned Pogba’s future before and the timing of his last remarks will enrage manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Carragher said in Monday night football that United should be happy to sell out the World Cup winner, as they called the pair a ‘shame’.

Get rid of it! I have been saying this for 12 months. The most overrated player I have ever seen! Carragher said, in Sky sports.

I think both of them are a disgrace. We will all look at the agent now and ask Pogba what he thinks. Agents in this age, they are not just agents, they are a parent, a best friend, a financial advisor, they book vacations, they go together.

‘Those two will be like this (fingers crossed). He will be Pogba’s best friend. So Pogba will be very aware of what was going to come out of his mouth. And if he wasn’t, he should fire his agent.

‘It’s very, very simple. That is all that must happen. I mean, I don’t know where it’s going … who’s going to have it? I do not get it?

His agent Raiola, who is famous for his frankness, told the Italian newspaper Tuttosport: ‘I can say it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

‘He has to change teams, he has to change air.

He has a contract that expires in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell in the next market.

“Otherwise, the club, with which relations are excellent, knows well that it would run the risk of losing him in a free signing, since at the moment it is not the intention of the player to extend the contract.”

However, former Liverpool defender Carragher insisted United should want to sell the 27-year-old, who returned to the club four years ago from Juventus amid high hopes that he was ready to develop his potential.

“Manchester United wants to get rid of him, don’t be fooled,” Carragher continued.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been playing Scott McTominay and Fred across from him in midfield. And he had to put it in because he was resting players.

“He hasn’t played for a month, but he hasn’t come out. He has had an injury but was on the bench before. He played because they were break players for Leipzig. Could you play him now, in Leipzig, behind that?

Carragher also touched on the similarities to when Cristiano Ronaldo moved from United to Real Madrid for a world record sum in 2009, but felt the key difference is that Pogba doesn’t deserve the same hassle.

“Remember that a few years ago, everyone knew that Ronaldo was going to Real Madrid, but United had to put up with it because it was worth it,” added Carragher.

‘Pogba is not worth the hassle. Get rid of him.

“There are only two better clubs than United and that is Barça and Real Madrid. And when I say better I mean players (who leave), you can understand that they are the pinnacle of club football. I have to accept that.

‘There is no possibility in the world that Real Madrid or Barça will buy it. I’ll be stunned again if they come in.

‘Maybe something French with [Zinedine] Zidane is there, but I wouldn’t go near him.
