PETALING JAYA: Pasir Salak’s deputy, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, was named president of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, effective May 11.

He replaces former Malayan chief judge Tan Sri Zaharah Ibrahim, who resigned on May 7 after serving as president since November 11 of last year.

“The Prasarana Group’s board of directors and management have full confidence in Tajuddin’s wisdom and credentials to drive the transformation program in domestic public transport and strengthen Malaysia’s world-class public transport system.

“The board of directors, senior management and the entire workforce of the Prasarana Group want to express our appreciation and gratitude to Zaharah for his service when he was president,” Prasarana said in a statement on Wednesday (May 13).

The company said Tajuddin, a native of Perak, graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Economics in 1972, the same year that he began his civil service career.

After that, he also ventured into the corporate world, where he held numerous senior positions at various companies within the automotive industry.
