KUALA LUMPUR: After an eight-month hiatus, Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has gone haywire by stating that it aims to present at least three reports in the next two weeks.

According to PAC President Wong Kah Woh (Photo), who is also a deputy from Ipoh Timur, the committee will highlight pending cases such as the Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Perlis, the Road Charges (RC) system project, the Vehicle Entrance Permit (VEP) and the sale of land belonging to the Kuala Lumpur City Council. . (DBKL).

“In the coming weeks, this committee will give priority to the previous pending cases,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (November 4).

Wong added that the PAC will take steps to complete several reports that were not finalized.

He said the PAC members were briefed on their roles and procedures by the committee’s secretariat on Tuesday (November 3) just after Parliament appointed its new 12 members.

“Briefings were also provided to PAC members on previous cases handled by the committee, which had been pending since March,” he added.

Wong also said that the committee will have a busy schedule in the next two weeks, as meetings will be held in the mornings and afternoons every day during Dewan Rakyat’s November meeting.

He said this was to make up for “lost time” as the PAC is now active again after the appointment of 12 members to the committee.

The PAC has been inactive since March after 12 of its members, including Parit Sulong Datuk MP, Dr Noraini Ahmad, who was also its first female president, became part of the newly formed Perikatan Nasional government.

Wong, who was previously vice president of the PAC, took over the position that was left vacant after Noraini’s resignation.
