Owen Hargreaves believes that Marcus Rashford will be Manchester United’s captain one day after showing leadership qualities during their Europa League clash with RB Leipzig.
Rashford scored three goals in 20 minutes as Man United beat Leipzig, last year’s Champions League semi-finalists, 5-0.
However, when given a chance to secure his hat-trick when the Red Devils were awarded a 3-0 penalty, Rashford allowed Anthony Martial to shoot.

The decision not only allowed Martial to score his first goal of the season, but Rashford scored his third of the game in the 92nd minute.
Speaking of Rashford’s decision to let Martial take the penalty, Hargreaves said: ‘I love it, he’s taking care of his teammates. Marcus knows he will get his numbers, I love that.
‘That’s being a great teammate. That’s why he’s going to be captain because he thinks of everyone else. ‘
Rio Ferdinand, on the other hand, felt that Rashford should have been ruthless and followed players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by taking the penalty himself.
Ferdinand said: ‘Messi and Ronaldo are not going to give away a pen!’ but then he admitted that Rashford is’ someone who intends to improve himself and become a better player. ‘

Trevor Sinclair previously supported Rashford to become United captain for the same reasons as Hargreaves. He believes that the forward ‘leads by example’ and ‘has that kind of spirit and drive that can infect other players’.
He told TalkSport: ‘I don’t usually look at strikers and think’ oh yeah, captain stuff.
‘You look at players like Alan Shearer, he was Newcastle captain. I know he talked more and had more experience, but I think Rashford has that kind of spirit and drive to want to be successful and that can rub off on the players.
Maybe it’s one of those things where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give you the armband when the captain is injured.
