PETALING JAYA: Only upper secondary students who sit for exams can return to school on January 20, says the Ministry of Education.
The ministry said a discussion was held with the Ministry of Health and the National Security Council (MKN), and it was decided that physical education sessions for students across the country would only be for those who would sit for their Sijil. Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM), Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM), Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM), Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM), as well as international examinations for the lot 2020.
“All elementary and Form One to Form Five students in secondary schools can follow Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) according to the suitability of students and teachers as of January 20,” he said in a statement on Saturday (January 16). .
The ministry said that students who have enrolled in the full-time internships at Form Four and Form Five can stay in their hostels and follow their lessons online or return home and continue with PdPR.
Parents and guardians can pick up their children at any time by following the posted guidelines.
Last year’s Form Five and Form Six students can also have classes in schools until they finish their exams.
The ministry also said that Form One, Form Four and Form Five students in regular boarding schools can also stay in their shelters and follow online classes at their schools, or they can go home and continue the PdPR.
The same applies for the 2020 batch of Form Five and Form Six students as they can follow physical classes in schools until they finish their exams.
“The schools will prepare food and drinks for the students in the boarding schools.
“For operational purposes, all teachers must return to their duty stations by January 20.
“Teachers participating in exam year classes must be present in schools to begin physical classes.
“Other teachers who carry out PdPR or attend schools can do so based on the needs established by their respective department heads,” the ministry said.
He added that enrollment college students would have to stay at their respective colleges to continue hybrid learning.
Students who have entered the Teacher Training Institute (IPG) who are in the hostels must remain on their campuses.
Those who have not registered in the shelters have the option of staying in the shelters or in their homes.
“Classes for IPG students will be held online starting tomorrow (January 17). The details of their internships and internships will be released later, ”he added.
At the same time, private kindergartens registered with the Ministry can continue to have physical classes.
The Ministry urged everyone to follow the established guidelines, adding that it is always committed to helping the government reduce the spread of Covid-19 infections.
