PUTRAJAYA: Only customer names and phone numbers should only be registered before they are allowed to enter the commercial premises as required by the Gerak Malaysia app.
Chief Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the government understands the public’s concern when some locals require them to provide their identity card numbers and addresses before allowing them to enter.
“We need customer registration in case there are Covid-19 cases, in order to contact (those who have been exposed), but understand that they do not want to provide their addresses and identity card numbers due to security”. he said at the daily press conference here today.
He added that the clients’ names and phone numbers were sufficient for authorities to trace clients in case of Covid-19 infection in a commercial location.
Separately, Ismail Sabri said hairdressing services are not yet allowed during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.
“Regardless of whether it is done at home, in the office, or at the salon, it is the same, it is not allowed,” he said, commenting in a report that there were dignitaries who had salon services at home.
Ismail Sabri also said the government will end the sixth Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in the Kuala Lumpur and Pusat Bandar Utara wholesale market today after the Health Ministry conducted health screenings on people in the area.
Meanwhile, for Selayang Baru, Gombak, the government decided to extend the order to allow the Ministry of Health to carry out a comprehensive health assessment.
In a separate topic, Ismail Sabri said the public still has plenty of time to apply for the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) which closes on May 31, and need not rush into the Internal Revenue Board (IRB).
He advised the public that goes to IRB offices to observe the standard operating procedure established when practicing the social distance of one meter when queuing. – Bernama
