Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was ‘very happy’ with Donny van de Beek’s performance in Manchester United’s friendly loss to Aston Villa, hailing the Dutchman as ‘the biggest advantage’ of the day.
United fell 1-0 to Dean Smith’s Villa, with club-record signing Ollie Watkins scoring a header to secure the victory.
It was a first chance for Solskjaer to take a closer look at new signing Van de Beek, who signed a £ 40m deal with Ajax.
And Solskjaer liked what he saw of the Dutch international.
