NVIDIA last night unveiled the new GeForce RTX 30 series of graphics cards that, in general, have been received with much fanfare by gamers around the world. This is especially the part where the company stated that the RTX 3070 is already much faster than the RTX 2080 Ti despite being priced much lower.

Speaking of the price tag, it turns out that NVIDIA has quietly revealed the starting price of GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards in Malaysia. This is quite surprising given that these graphics cards are not released immediately, but we have since verified the information with NVIDIA.
According to the official GeForce RTX 30 website for Malaysia, the RTX 3080, which will apparently be available in Malaysia from September 17 onwards, has a starting price of RM 3360. The RTX 3090, which will follow a bit later on September 24, can be obtained at RM 7208 ahead.
On the other hand, the RTX 3070 will launch sometime in October with a starting price of RM 2399. In general, the price for Malaysia is approximately RM 329 to RM 992 higher than the price in the United States.
With that said, consider this: the starting price of the RTX 3070 for Malaysia is still much lower than the RTX 2080 Ti at the official Zotac store in Lazada, which is currently priced at RM 5469. Even at NVIDIA’s own Lazada store , ASUS and MSI’s RTX 2080 Ti are still going for even higher prices at RM 7060 and RM 6300, respectively.
So despite the significant price disparity between Malaysia and the US, it seems that the price advantage of RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 over RTX 2080 Ti still applies in our market. However, the RTX 30 series cards are still top-tier hardware and as such are also priced top-tier.
