Nurse is the latest to report sexual assault by famous preacher

A total of nine police complaints have been filed alleging rape or outrageous modesty on the part of the famous preacher.

SHAH ALAM: A nurse filed a police report on Sunday, claiming that she was sexually abused by a famous preacher who is now in pretrial detention, becoming the latest victim to come forward.

Selangor Police Chief Noor Azam Jamaludin said the woman, who is a nurse at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur, made the report at the Dang Wangi Police Station around 4pm. The case had been referred to the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters for further investigation.

“This latest report brings the total to nine police complaints filed against the preacher alleging rape and outrageous modesty. We have opened investigative documents on seven of the cases, while the other two have been classified as “no further action”.

“Most of the cases involving the preacher occurred in Shah Alam. We are still investigating the cases from all aspects with the information gathered, ”he told reporters at the official opening of the Sri Muda police station today.

Noor Azam said the 26-year-old woman claimed the incident happened in a studio in Section 7 here in December last year.

“The suspect’s modus operandi was the same as in his previous cases, in which the woman was invited to dinner before taking her home on the pretext that she had left something there. Then the suspect allegedly hugged her from behind.

“The victim is believed to have known the suspect since 2018 and they had often dated,” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.

The 25-year-old preacher had been in pretrial detention for 10 days in a Shah Alam dungeon on allegations that he had raped a woman he met on Instagram.

He was detained again yesterday, this time in Petaling Jaya, for five days on a similar charge.
