KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Berhad (Media Prima) confirmed today that an employee of The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP) has been diagnosed with Covid-19 after returning from Sabah state election coverage.
Media Prima in a statement said the employee is now under the care of a government hospital.
“The affected staff returned from their editorial duties in Sabah on September 30 and had undergone the mandatory Covid-19 test administered by the Ministry of Health.
“Since then, the affected personnel had been in home quarantine before being reported as a positive case,” he said.
The group is currently working closely with the ministry and has taken the necessary steps and precautions to minimize possible exposure to its other employees.
He said that the person concerned had not visited any Media Prima establishment since he returned from Sabah.
“Media Prima will provide the necessary support to the affected personnel. We pray for a speedy recovery, ”the statement said.
The group emphasized that Media Prima prioritizes the safety of its staff, and all those returning from their duties in Sabah have undergone the mandatory Covid-19 test and are currently in a 14-day quarantine at home.-Called
