SEREMBAN (Bernama): The investigation procedure to determine the real cause of death of the Irish-French teenager Nora Anne Quoirin (Photo) in the Forensic Court here it had to be postponed after a witness was found to be in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
The attorney representing the girl’s family, S. Sakthyvell, when meeting with reporters outside of court, said that the request for postponement was made by the team handling the investigation on Monday (October 19).
However, he said, the procedure would continue on Tuesday (October 20) with the witness to testify through the Zoom app.
“The deputy court clerk informed me about the matter only at 5.30 am today. They also informed me that the witness is in quarantine and has done the swab test and was waiting for the result,” he added.
When the investigative procedure resumes on Tuesday, three witnesses from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will testify via the Zoom app.
So far, 19 witnesses have testified before Coroner Maimoonah Aid.
Nora Anne, 15, disappeared on August 4 last year, a day after she and her family arrived in Malaysia for a two-week vacation at a resort in Pantai, about 60 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur. .
His body was found on August 13 near a stream about 2.5 km from the tourist center after a massive search by authorities.
A preliminary post-mortem report revealed that there were no criminal elements in Nora Anne’s death and that the teenager had died of gastrointestinal bleeding, due to prolonged stress and hunger.- Bernama
