THE Yesterday, at the committee stage, allocations in the 2021 budget for three other ministries were approved. This brings the total number of ministries whose budgets were approved to 17, and six were approved by block vote.

In his closing speech, his minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun (pix) said the ministry is currently preparing the draft bill for the proposed Sexual Harassment Law.
He said the ministry is holding engagement sessions with relevant agencies and stakeholders to get their opinions.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Art’s budget of RM986.6 million was subsequently approved by block vote, with President Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun chairing the session.
The budget was supported by 109 deputies, 96 voted against and 15 were absent.
The budget of the Ministry of Environment and Water (including RM551.8 million for its management expenses) was also approved by voice vote.
