CITY OF GEORGE: So far, no staff member at the Penang Pretrial Detention has tested positive for Covid-19, according to its director, Mohamed Jusoh Idris.

He said that the seven people in the prison who tested positive were inmates and that they were all receiving treatment at Penang Hospital.

“Six of the seven inmates who tested positive were close contacts and were in the same cell as the inmate who died on October 5. We hope that our swift action to isolate and quarantine them can help slow the spread of the pandemic.
