KUANTAN: There should be no problem about which party will be more dominant if PPBM, PAS and Umno form a coalition to face the 15th general election, Pahang PPBM secretary Saifuddin Abdullah said.

He said that in the current situation, all parties must be willing to work together and prioritize the interests and well-being of the people.

“The current policy must be seen from the current situation. Let us not be influenced by the old political framework that will make our work difficult, since the important thing is to put people first.

“We must be open minded and the question of who is riding (on someone) and dominating should not arise when forming a coalition of Malaysian parties.

“This coalition should have the opportunity to serve,” he told a news conference after attending the Indera Mahkota Prihatin program here today.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, in his political speech at the annual general assembly of the PPBM, said that it would be good for all Malaysian Muslim leaders to come together in an important alliance to create stability in Malaysia, rather than splitting into small factions.

Indera Mahkota MP Saifuddin said the amendment to the PPBM constitution to allow non-Malays and non-Muslims to become associate members shows the openness of the party.

“We welcome you to join our party because we still respect and recognize other religions in accordance with article 3 of the Federal Constitution which stipulates that Islam is the federal religion, while followers of other religions are free to practice their own faith, “he said.
