PUTRAJAYA: The 10km radius travel limit that was implemented during the early days of the conditional motion control order (MCO) no longer applies, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo).
He said the public can travel further than this as long as their travel is within district boundaries.
However, he said that in addition to going to work, one should only go out to collect essential supplies.
He also said that Kuala Lumpur was considered an area or district, so people in Cheras, for example, could travel to Bukit Bintang.
“But keep in mind that the trip must be to buy your needs and not for social or other purposes.
“These areas are placed under the conditional OLS because we want to limit movement to break the chain of Covid-19 infections.
“If people are allowed to move freely, then the purpose of enforcing the order would be defeated,” he said on Thursday (October 15).
To a question, he said that for the purposes of the conditional MCO, the definition of district used was according to the administrative district, and not according to the definition of police or health districts.
Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya have been placed under the conditional MCO since October 14 in view of the increase in positive cases of Covid-19.
Ismail said that those from other states who wanted to take a trip that required them to go through Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya could download the necessary application form from the official police Facebook page.
After downloading the form and completing it, they could go to the nearest police station to have the letter signed and sealed.
“These letters can be used when going over obstacles. However, I would like to remind the public to only make the trip for urgent matters. Social visits should be put on hold for now, ”he said.
