Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar was one of five players sent off after a fight during the derby victory for fierce rivals Marseille.
The clash saw an incredible 12 yellow cards shown by referee Jerome Brisard within normal time as tensions flared on the field, and the shocking melee that broke out in injury time saw both teams be punished with expulsions.
Marseille’s Dario Benedetto and PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes had faced off after a challenge with the visitors leading by just one goal, and their union soon turned into a full-scale fight involving a large number of stars.
Neymar was one of five players sent off after a fight started during PSG’s loss to Marseille.
Tensions flared horribly on the field and several stars raced during injury time.
Neymar was also involved, and soon received his marching orders for a punch to the back of the head from defender Álvaro González after the officer checked his VAR screen to review the nasty incident.
As he walked away from the Parque de los Príncipes field, Neymar could be seen telling the fourth official about an alleged incident of racist abuse, apparently involving González, to add another sickening twist to the night.
Television images and a microphone on the court seem to have captured Neymar pointing to the center of the back in question and shouting: “Racism, right?”
The 28-year-old doubled down on social media shortly after the game, claiming that González had labeled him a ‘cute son of a bitch’.

Andre Villas-Boas, the Marseille boss, said he hoped racism hadn’t further clouded the confrontation. He said Telefoot: ‘I don’t know, I hope not, I hope nothing happened.’
Ángel Di María, also returning for PSG, was sensationally accused of spitting on González by Villas-Boas.
Attempts to calm the man in the middle fell on deaf ears. Layvin Kurzawa and Jordan Amavi were also caught striking out each other with punches, and Brisard also showed the pair red cards in a row.
Paredes and Benedetto were the next players banished back inside after collecting their second reserves.
