KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Banking Group has appointed Wong Kee Poh, CEO of RHB Bank (Cambodia) PLC, and Piyanat Aranyakasemsuke, CEO of RHB Bank Thailand effective September 1.
He said on Monday that Wong and Piyanat will lead and boost the group’s business and commercial banking operations in Cambodia and Thailand, respectively.
“His appointments will further enhance the strength of the group’s leadership team for its regional operations and enhance the group’s presence in both key markets in line with the group’s five-year FIT22 strategy,” he said in a statement.
RHB Bank said that Wong has over 34 years of experience in the banking industry and has held various managerial and leadership positions in well-established financial institutions in Malaysia.
He was Deputy Country Director of RHB Bank (Cambodia) PLC since January 2013 and was subsequently appointed Executive Director of RHB Bank Thailand in 2015.
Wong holds a Master of Business Administration from Lansbridge University, New Brunswick, Canada and a Bachelor of Economics from Universiti Malaya.
As for Piyanat (photo, below), he has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry mainly in the corporate and commercial banking sector.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of RHB Bank Thailand from July 2018 to August 2020.
He joined RHB Bank Thailand in 2015 as Director of Business Development.
Piyanat holds an MBA in International Business and Management from Northumbria University’s Newcastle Business School and a BA in Economics from Thammasat University, Thailand.
