“The patient had symptoms such as cough and muscle pain since September 24 and received treatment at a health clinic in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

“After that, a close contact test was done and eight other people tested positive for Covid-19 within that identified group,” said Dr. Noor Hisham.

The Selasih group in Putrajaya also has a Sabah connection.

Dr. Noor Hisham said that the 37-year-old index case had traveled to Kota Kinabalu, Melangkap, and Kundasang in Sabah recently.

“The patient began showing symptoms of fever and cough on September 25 and was tested for Covid-19 at the KLIA on September 27. Subsequently, his results came back positive the next day.

“Six other people tested positive and all were admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital,” he said.
