KOTA KINABALU: An unidentified food delivery man is earning praise from Sabahans when images of him preparing against the floods in Kibabaig, near Penampang, near here, to make his delivery go viral on social media.
In one video, the man is seen carrying a large bag believed to be filled with food orders, wading knee-deep in floodwaters in a residential area Monday (September 14) night.
Social media users praised the man for being committed to his job despite bad weather.
Many also advised others to refrain from ordering food at home during the rainy season.
Some even criticized the customer for ordering food despite the bad weather.
A commenter known as Patricia PJ said she hoped the person who placed the order would tip the delivery man generously.
Others advised those making food deliveries to stay safe and think about their safety first.
Kibabaig is among the many areas affected by several floods in Sabah following a heavy downpour since Monday (September 14) evening.
Other parts affected by the floods are Penampang, Bundusan, Luyang and their surroundings.
The Department of Meteorology issued a weather alert for Sabah, and heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to last until Sept. 16.
The affected areas are the interior such as Kuala Penyu and Beaufort, the west coast that includes Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud, as well as Kudat and Labuan.
