A woman’s meal of plain rice with fish and a lady’s finger cost $ 7, which she found too expensive.
Stomper Kamala said he visited Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak at the Causeway Point Mall on Sunday (October 4), around 1.15 p.m.
He was surprised when they charged him $ 7 for his order of rice, fish and vegetables.
Kamala said, “I found it very shocking as it was just plain rice and not nasi lemak rice. Also, I chose the tail part of the fish.
“When I checked with the seller again for the price, he said the fish was $ 5. This is ridiculous and cuts your throat.
“The staff also did not mention the price of the fish before selling it to customers.”
According to Kamala, white rice was $ 1 while the lady’s finger was $ 1.
Part of his surprise was also because he had frequented the stall before and a meal normally costs around $ 5, he told Stomp.
When contacted by Stomp, Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak said that the fish Kamala had ordered is actually red snapper.
He explained: “The tail of the red snapper is quite expensive.”
However, he acknowledged that his staff should have informed the client in advance.
