PUTRAJAYA: Several ministers dodged questions from the media about the agenda for the special cabinet meeting called by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as he left the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here today.
The Minister of Industry and International Trade, Mohamed Azmin Ali, and the Minister of National Unity, Halimah Mohamed Sadique, have just greeted the reporters and cameramen as they left the Perdana Putra building at around 2.30 pm.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said he will head to the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), where the Umno Supreme Council and Barisan Nasional MPs meet.
“I will address PWTC, the meeting has already started,” he said.
The ministers had been seen arriving at the meeting at the PMO since 11 am, and sources told the FMT that the prime minister was seeking support from his Perikatan Nasional (PN) allies for next year’s budget.
A member of the PN told the FMT that Muhyiddin and several MPs were in a closed-door meeting to seek the support of PAS, MCA and MIC, as well as other members of his cabinet.
PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang, Secretary General Takiyuddin Hassan and MIC President S Vigneswaran had arrived early in the morning for the meeting, but it was not known whether Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had joined. to them.
