KOTA KINABALU: Nominations for Sabah’s 16th election closed today at 10am, with multi-corner fights across all 73 seats.

Api-Api will see a nine-way brawl with current Sabah PKR President Christina Liew defending her seat against PBS Vice President Yee Moh Chai and Liberal Democratic Party Acting Chairman Chin Su Phin, among others.

Warisan Vice President Darell Leiking is in a seven-way battle for the majority seat of Kadazandusun Murut de Moyog in the Penampang parliamentary constituency against, among others, Parti Cinta Sabah candidate William Sampil, who is a former civil servant. from Penampang District, and Joe Sulaiman from STAR.

Sabah DAP acting chief Frankie Poon, on the other hand, faces six other contestants to defend Tanjong Papat’s seat in the Sandakan parliamentary area.

At Segama’s new state headquarters in the Lahad Datu parliamentary constituency, former tourism minister Mohamadin Ketapi will face seven others over the venue.

Meanwhile, PCS President Anifah Aman will only have to compete against three others for the Bongawan state post.

Sabah PPBM boss Hajiji Noor is also in a three-way fight to defend his seat in Sulaman.
