KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Rela will soon receive RM10 thousand for the purchase of new uniforms and other things.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin made the announcement during a meeting with Rela staff here on Saturday (August 29).
He said Rela’s staff, being the third line of defense, played important roles in various aspects of the national defense system.
“They also help ensure unity among the people,” he said during his speech.
Muhyiddin expected all Rela staff to perform their duties well and maintain their good image while conducting their daily operations with dedication and responsibility.
He also advised Rela staff to help the authorities stay calm and safe in the upcoming state elections.
“Our country is considered a relatively safe and harmonious place to live, and in this peaceful state of Sabah, there are parts that feel uncomfortable or want to claim it as their own,” he said.
“There are even efforts to put Sabah on the map of the Philippines and this is a challenge to our sovereignty,” Muhyiddin said.
“We reject this irrational claim. There is no one who can claim Sabah as their inheritance or try to get Sabah out of Malaysia,” “Let us all work together to keep our borders secure and protect our citizens,” Muhyiddin said.
