Muhyiddin conveys his condolences to Bahrain on the death of Prince Khalifa Salman Al Khalifa

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has conveyed his condolences to Bahrain on the death of its longest-serving prime minister, Prince Khalifa Salman Al Khalifa.

“Malaysia extends its condolences to Bahrain on the passing of Prince Khalifa Salman Al Khalifa.

“We sympathize with His Majesty the King of Bahrain and with the brotherly people of the Kingdom.

As Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa has been relentless in his reform efforts that have brought progress and prosperity to Bahrain.

“May Allah the Almighty place his soul among the righteous,” he said in his Facebook post on Wednesday (November 11).

Reuters reported that Khalifa died at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in the United States at the age of 84.

Khalifa had served as the country’s prime minister since the kingdom declared its independence from Great Britain in 1971. The al-Khalifa family has ruled since 1783.
