Muhyiddin assures the government to balance the economic and survival aspects

KUALA LUMPUR, February 20: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has assured that the government will continue to intensify efforts to find the balance between survival and the economic aspects of the country that has not yet been declared free from the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The prime minister said the government was concerned and has always listened to the opinions and complaints of those affected since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.

“Therefore, the government has introduced various policies and initiatives, including Economic Stimulus Packages and, more recently, the Rakyat Protection and Malaysia Economic Assistance Package (PERMAI) to protect people’s well-being and support continuity of the business, “he said addressing the Virtual Malaysia Chinese New Year Open House 2021 on Saturday.

The Prime Minister said that the Chinese community in Malaysia had contributed significantly to the economic development of the country.

He said that the economic chain encompasses the country’s tourism, arts and culture industries, which has made Malaysia an attractive tourist destination for foreign tourists.

“Let us continue to conserve and preserve the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the various races that have become assets that we are proud to share,” he said.

He said that the spirit of the Year of the Ox zodiac sign for the 2021 Chinese New Year celebration should also be used as inspiration to overcome the challenges plaguing the country right now without feeling hopeless.

“The government will continue to intensify efforts to balance the survival and economic aspects of the country.

“At the same time, we cannot give up like an ox that is always energetic and ready to plow and is dedicated to the land,” he said.
