PETALING JAYA: PAS says its alliance with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN) does not belong exclusively to any one party or group.
Its general secretary, Takiyuddin Hassan, said MN should be open to all those who love unity, harmony and justice.
“PAS stands firm in the letter signed between Umno and PAS on September 14, 2019 that, among others, agreed to cooperate in the development of the Islamic and Malay narrative without denying the diversity of religion, race and culture as a central element of the political stability. , racial harmony and peace of the country, ”Takiyuddin said in a statement today.
“PAS also emphasizes that MN should be a standard practice to strengthen the agenda of Islam, Malays, Bumiputeras specifically, and Malays in general, within the framework of the Federal Constitution to develop a country that is inclusive, prosperous and guarantees social justice through of the color line. or affiliations “.
Takiyuddin stressed that no party should ask PAS to choose whether it wants to be with MN or not because PAS was one of the main actors who designed and helped establish MN on the basis of the unification of the ummah.
By maintaining a strong commitment to the MN agenda, he said, it was clear that no obstacles were placed on Umno to remain with Barisan Nasional or for PAS to join any coalition or political cooperation.
Takiyuddin also said that it was important that the “combination of Umno and PAS” work with any party that had the same ambitions to face the 15th general election if it could cooperate well.
“PAS is confident that to achieve these ambitions and desires, all parties must explore the path of peace and mutual acceptance and respect, and not the other way around,” he said.
