MotoGP 2021 – Lineup of riders so far … | MotoGP | Characteristic

[ad_1]

Another 2021 MotoGP seat has fallen into place with the long-awaited official news that Valentino Rossi will be joining Petronas Yamaha.

The Italian’s deal completes Yamaha’s future lineup of riders, which will see Rossi and Fabio Quartararo swap places.

Rides yet to be confirmed for 2021 include Aprilia’s second seat alongside Aleix Espargaró, which will largely depend on the outcome of Andrea Iannone’s CAS appeal against her 18-month doping ban, plus the remaining rides of Ducati.

Officially only Jack Miller (moving from Pramac to the Official team) has his future 100% clear for next season, but it is known that Francesco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco will remain with the factory (either in Pramac or in the Official team) while Moto2 stars. Jorge Martín (Pramac) and Enea Bastianini (Avintia) are ready to move up to the premier category.

Tito Rabat has a contract with Avintia, but is currently fighting to match Zarco and it is possible that another Moto2 star, Luca Marini, could get it.

Two winners of the currently unplaced race are Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow. Dovizioso has announced that he will be leaving Ducati, while Crutchlow has been replaced by Alex Márquez. His only obvious option would be to replace Iannone at Aprilia.
