JOHOR BARU: The body of a retired police officer has been found buried in an oil palm plantation along Jalan Kahang-Mersing, near Kluang, after he was reported missing for more than a month.

Johor Police Chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the victim has been identified as Su Kim Chiang, 57, adding that he was a former Special Brigade staff and that members of his family had come forward. a missing persons report on August 31.

“We arrested two suspected men between the ages of 37 and 41 at a workshop in Kluang last Friday (October 16) around 10 am. They are known associates of the victim, ”he said.

Comm Ayob said the initial investigation revealed that the victim left his home in Kampung Selatan Kahang between 8 pm and midnight on August 31 to meet the suspects in the workshop.

“The victim had loaned some money to one of the suspects and wanted the money back, and this sparked a heated discussion between them. The autopsy results revealed that the victim suffered several head injuries caused by a blunt object, ”he added.

Comm Ayob also said that the police are waiting for the DNA results to confirm the identity of the victim as the body had deteriorated greatly.

“Due to the state of the victim’s body, the family could not identify him but he was wearing the same clothes on the day he disappeared,” he said, adding that the case was classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for homicide.
