Ministry of Health: Nine new Covid-19 clusters identified

PETALING JAYA: A total of nine new Covid-19 clusters were reported on Saturday (October 25), the Health Ministry says.

Tan Sri Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said four of the groups were from Sabah.

Titir’s group has 12 new cases involving the Keningau district in Sabah, and it was identified when the patient underwent an evaluation on October 18. So far 23 people have tested positive.

Another group is the Omadal group, which has nine new cases involving the Semporna district in Sabah, and was identified when the index case tested positive on October 18. So far, 21 people have tested positive.

Bandaran’s group has five new cases involving the Kota Kinabalu district in Sabah, and was identified when the index case tested positive on October 15. So far, 12 people have tested positive.

Additionally, Jambul’s group has a new case involving the Sandakan district in Sabah, and it was identified when the index case tested positive on October 9. So far, eight people have tested positive.

Bayan’s group has two new cases involving Seberang Perai in Penang, and it was identified when the index case tested positive on October 21. So far, six people have tested positive.

The Mentari group includes Petaling, Klang and Gombak in Selangor; Seremban in Negri Sembilan; and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur.

He has five new cases and was identified when the index case tested positive on October 22. So far, 17 people have tested positive.

Jernih’s group has 11 new cases involving Seremban in Negri Sembilan, and it was identified when the index case tested positive on October 22 before returning to the country of origin. So far, 15 people have tested positive.

Seladah’s group has four new cases involving Kuching and Serian in Sarawak, and it was identified when the index case tested positive on October 22. So far, seven people have tested positive.

Makekar’s group involves Johor Baru and Kulai in Johor; Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Kemaman and Dungun in Terengganu; and Klang in Selangor.

He has eight new cases and was identified when the index case tested positive in a workplace screening test on October 18. So far, 10 people have tested positive.
