Ministry of Health: 82 new cases of Covid-19 with 60 from Sabah, no new deaths

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia confirmed 82 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday (September 22), 60 of which were detected in Sabah, says the Ministry of Health.

Benteng Lahad Datu’s (LD) group registered 41 new cases, of which 34 are Malaysians and seven are foreign.

Another new group has emerged in Semporna, called the Bangau-Bangau group, with five new cases linked to it.

Tan Sri Health Director General Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that of the 82 new cases, 72 are local transmissions, while 10 are imported cases.

On Tuesday, Malaysia also discharged 168 patients, meaning the total number of recoveries is 9,563 or a rate of 92.32%.

The total number of active cases in the country was reduced to 665 cases.

Together, the total number of cases in the country since the outbreak began in January is 10,358.

Currently, nine people are being treated in intensive care units, and two require respiratory assistance.

No deaths were reported, which means that the death toll from Covid-19 in the country remains at 130 or at a rate of 1.26%.
