The minister of human resources, M Saravanan, has been placed in home quarantine.

PUTRAJAYA: Human Resources Minister M Saravanan has been placed in home quarantine after being in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

Saravanan tested negative for Covid-19 on an initial swab test yesterday, but his results for a subsequent test are still pending.

“So far so good,” he told Bernama when asked about his health.

Saravanan was reported to have met with an official from the Human Resources Development Fund who tested positive last night.

He said all SOPs were taken into account during the meeting, including face masks and social distancing.

Saravanan said her public duties would not be affected by the quarantine and that she will attend all of her meetings by video conference.

HRDF confirmed that a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 and is receiving treatment. The fund’s headquarters will close for a week from today for sanitation reasons. Employees have been told to undergo Covid-19 swab testing.
